Working Group Charge: Admissions, Access and Affordability

The most important decisions that Swarthmore makes, together with the hiring and tenuring of faculty, are in admissions, financial aid, and tuition policies. The special nature of the Swarthmore experience depends on both the quality of the faculty and the quality of the students and the interactions among them. The charge of the Admissions, Access, and Affordability Working Group is to explore questions about recruitment and admissions policies as they relate to student success and the College’s mission of shaping world citizens and future leaders, and about balancing financial aid and tuition policies with student access and institutional financial stability.
